NASHVILLE — In what is billed as “a different kind of welcome” for President Barack Obama’s
visit to Chattanooga, the Tennessee Republican Party is airing a
television ad declaring that Tennessee is a success “not because of your
liberal policies, but in spite of them.”
A White House statement
says the president will tour the Amazon Fulfillment Center in
Chattanooga today and “discuss proposals he has laid out to jump-start
private sector job growth and make America more competitive, and will
also talk about new ideas to create American jobs.”
The trip comes
after Amazon announced it is adding jobs at the Chattanooga facility
and converting some part-time jobs to full-time positions.
