Wise County Sheriff's Office
An extra patrol was requested by a female in Big Stone Gap. She told a deputy that Christmas music can be heard coming from a neighbor's home when she tries to go to sleep, continuing from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
A woman told dispatch that she was "rattled and tore up" after seeing a UFO near the border of Wise County, Va., and Kentucky. She said she realizes people think she's crazy, but she still would like to make a report. She described the silver object as flashing "on and off" as it traveled approximately 200 yards "in front of a jet." The woman theorized the sighting may be weather related, citing the recent flooding in Kingsport. A similar object was spotted over a Kentucky town last fall, according to the caller, just prior to a snow storm.
Hawkins County Sheriff's Office
A Rogersville man called police to an assault, with officers responding to find he had blood, "all over his face and stomach." The injuries were reportedly inflicted by his girlfriend, who was mad that he had failed to pick her up from the hospital. Officers determined she had hit him in the face with her crutches, prompting her arrest.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Office
Dispatch was advised of a dispute on Bancroft Chapel Road, where individuals had been granted permission to stay at a residence for, "a couple days." It's now been a "couple months," according to the caller, and the guests are refusing to leave.
Police responded to a vandalism complaint on Vermont Drive, where a woman said she had been drinking with her ex-boyfriend. When the man went outside she heard a loud noise, so she exited the residence to find him hitting her car, "with a piece of sidewalk." After pushing the woman down he fled, but police soon located him lying in a nearby ditch. He was arrested for domestic assault, vandalism and public intoxication.
Dispatch was alerted to adults who were letting children, ages 12 and 16, smoke cigarettes.
Kingsport Police Department
A caller claimed a man on Dale Street was attempting to Taser people, but responding officers could not locate a suspect.
Police were alerted to lewd acts occurring at the Kingsport Town Center. A loss prevention officer reportedly entered a men's restroom after receiving information about the activities, observing a man walking back and forth between a urinal and stall. When the man exited a stall while "actively"' fondling himself — and smiling at the loss prevention officer — he was detained and police were contacted. The suspect allegedly claimed to have seen, "other men doing it and thought it was OK." He was arrested for indecent exposure.
