POUND — A Kentucky woman was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash near Pound in Wise County.
Virginia State Police report Lois A. Brock, 67, was a passenger in a 1961 Austin-Healey driven by her husband, Henderson Brock, age unavailable, both of Eolia, Ky.
At around 11:35 a.m., the VSP said the Brocks' vehicle pulled into the path of a minivan while crossing the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 23 at the intersection of State Route 671. Lois Brock died at the scene of the crash.
Henderson Brock was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment of life threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Mercury Voyager minivan were not identified, but were transported by ambulance to a Wise County hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by VSP Trooper J.T. Funk.
A late Tuesday morning crash in Wise County killed one person and injured three.
The Virginia State Police reports the incident occurred at 11:42 a.m., at the intersection of Route 23 and Route 671 in Pound, Va. A car attempting to cross the southbound lanes of 23 reportedly pulled into the path of a minivan traveling south, triggering the collision.
The VSP say an adult female passenger of the car died at the scene. The car's driver, an adult male, was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. His injuries are listed as life-threatening.
Two occupants of the minivan suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation with charges pending.
The victims will be identified after the notification of next of kin.
