JOHNSON CITY — The East Tennessee State men’s soccer schedule for 2013 includes seven teams that ranked in the RPI Top 75 last season — including four who played in the 2012 NCAA College Cup.
Bucs coach Scott Calabrese released the schedule today.
ETSU will open the season Aug. 30 with a road trip to face South Carolina. The Bucs open at home Aug. 30 against Kentucky, which made its fifth all-time College Cup appearance last season.
Winthrop comes to ETSU on Sept. 30. The Bucs will then travel to Birmingham, Ala., for tournament play, facing Memphis on Sept. 13 and Alabama-Birmingham on Sept. 15.
ETSU will face Furman and Appalachian State at home on Sept. 20 and 26, respectively. The Bucs travel to Radford to face the Highlanders on Sept. 29.
Atlantic Sun Conference play for ETSU begins on the road at North Florida on Oct. 4 followed by an Oct. 5 conference title at Mercer. Defending champs Florida Gulf Coast will play at ETSU on Oct. 11 with Stetson coming to call on Oct. 13.
After that two-match home stand, the Bucs head to Florida to take on Jacksonville (Oct. 19) and turn around to take on Northern Kentucky (Oct. 23). ETSU will play conference home games with USC Upstate (Oct. 30) and Lipscomb (Nov. 2) before wrapping up the regular season at Wofford (Nov. 5).
The Atlantic Sun men’s soccer championship will be played at the home of the top-seeded team, Nov. 13-16.
