Record rainfall for year drenches Northeast Tennessee; more predicted

If you think there’s been a lot of rain so far this year, you would be right.

Total rainfall in the region since January has been recorded at 33.06 inches, which put the region at 11.77 inches above the normal of 21.29 inches, according to Derek Eisentrout, meterologist with the National Weather Service in Morristown.

Eisentrout said the month of June was one of the months that recorded a high rainfall total.
