Nearly a half-century of experience retiring from Hawkins Election Commission office

ROGERSVILLE — The Hawkins County Election Commission office will lose nearly a half-century of experience staff next week with the retirement of longtime deputy registrars Lena Gray and Vendetta Russell.

Gray, who has worked at the election office for 24 years, and Russell, who has worked at the election office for 23.5 years, are both retiring as of June 30.



Hawkins County Elections Administrator Donna Sharp is inviting the public to visit her office on the second floor of the Hawkins County Courthouse Annex on Tuesday for a celebration of their careers.



The reception is scheduled for 10
a.m.–2 p.m. on Tuesday.
