GATE CITY -- A Kingsport man who allegedly wrecked a stolen car after leading a Scott County Sheriff's Office deputy on a high-speed pursuit was indicted Thursday.
Nicholas Brown, 21, of Kingsport, is facing a single count of felony eluding law enforcement as a result of his alleged involvement in the March 25 chase.
Brown was allegedly driving a 1997 Honda Civic that had been reported stolen days earlier from the Model City Apartments in Kingsport when a Scott County deputy attempted to pull him over.
Brown allegedly led the officer on a 15 minute chase down A.P. Carter Highway in Hiltons, hitting speeds of 80mph before loosing control of the vehicle and crashing into a field.
Kingsport authorities took Brown into custody after he was released from a local hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the wreck.
