WISE — Virginia-Wise had four men’s tennis players named as 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes on Thursday.
The four players honored for the Cavaliers tied them with six other schools for the most members of a team to receive the award.
Senior Zach Holcomb and juniors Chase Cupp, Marc Huff and Jonathan Saado all earned this prestigious award. This is the second time Holcomb has earned the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete Award.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
