Richard Connors, TN State Parks Biologist Emeritus

Learn how to find, identify, observe and photograph these amazing insects!
Our region is rich in many varieties of these amazing insects. Dragonflies are fun and challenging to observe. They are also excellent indicators of the health of our natural places. Come spend a day learning to study dragonflies "at home" in their habitats, and also how best to record your observations with photos.
Plan to spend a warm summer day outdoors in the park's natural places, getting "up close and personal" with native dragonflies. Bring a sack lunch and dress for summer field conditions. You should also bring close-focusing binoculars and a camera if you have them. You can also bring a few of your own dragonfly photos to share and to have identified (time permitting).
This is a free event, but you must pre-register.
