Pal and Sharon Barger announced Wednesday that they would provide funding for a roundhouse at Kingsport's Carousel Project.
The undisclosed donation will allow construction near the city’s Farmers Market along Clinchfield Street. The carousel will include 33 platform animals that have been hand painted by community volunteers.
The Carousel Project is a joint effort of volunteers, Engage Kingsport, and the Cultural Arts Department of the City of Kingsport. The organizations work cooperatively to promote and create unique art within the city.
Barger’s Pal’s Sudden Service was founded in Kingsport in 1956, with the first location on Revere Street in the downtown district of the city.
