Lorrie Cooper is the chair of Fun Fest 2013.
Fun Fest announced today its 2013 theme of “Hot Fun in the Summer Time.”
“With the variety of activities we host each year, it seems natural to let everyone know that we plan to focus on having lots of fun,” said Fun Fest 2013 Chair Lorrie Cooper.
Now in its 32nd year, Fun Fest will be held Friday, July 12 through Saturday, July 20.
“This outstanding annual Kingsport festival provides a little something for everyone to do during mid-summer,” Cooper said. “We want to announce the theme early so businesses, clubs and other organizations can begin planning for the festivities and having fun now.”
A long-time community volunteer, Cooper is serving as current president of the Friends of Allandale. She has been president of the Junior League of Kingsport and Kingsport Tomorrow, council chair for the Kingsport Convention and Visitors Bureau, Indian Path Medical Center Foundation board member and has worked with numerous other organizations.
Cooper has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary Club International and received the Distinguished Leadership Award from Leadership Kingsport. She has also garnered the YWCA Tribute to Women distinction.
Cooper is director of purchasing for AGC Glass Company North America. She and her husband, Scott, have lived in Kingsport since 1994. They attend First Presbyterian Church and have two daughters Amory and Ashley. All are Virginia Tech graduates.
