Former Tennessee signee Travon Landry has officially been added to New Mexico State’s 2013-14 signing class, the school announced Monday.
Landry visited the Las Cruces, N.M., campus on Saturday, according to the Las Cruces Sun-News, the same day UT coach Cuonzo Martin confirmed Landry was no longer bound to a national letter of intent with Tennessee.
The Huntington (W.Va.) Prep point guard had committed to UT in December 2011 and signed his NLI with the Vols in November 2012. He averaged 2.7 points and 2.8 assists per game and went 2-for-29 on 3-point attempts this season for a Huntington team that finished 30-3 and was ranked No. 7 in the USA Today Super 25.
Landry’s omission from Tennessee's 2013-14 signing class brought UT back to the NCAA scholarship limit of 13 for next season.
