Sullivan County Sheriff's Office
Dispatch was alerted to suspicious individuals in the area of Poplar Grove Road, allegedly going door to door, "looking for people to teach sign language."
A man on Devault Bridge Road called police on his wife — who was on her way home from work — saying he "wants her out" of their residence.
Police were called to the Times-News relays at Sullivan North due to a suspicious man, "taking picture of young girls with his cell phone." The man — a Big Stone Gap resident who didn't know anyone at the track meet — was found to have an active warrant for violation of probation. Police also located in his possession a plastic baggie containing marijuana, along with rolling papers. He was not charged for the alleged photography, but was arrested on drug charges.
Two separate county residents alerted dispatch to suspicious men offering to pave driveways.
Police were advised of a disturbance at a mobile home park on Highway 126. A man involved was allegedly walking around outside "in his underwear" while screaming at a female.
At 2 a.m. a man requested that police check on his wife, who was attending a bonfire party where, "everyone is drinking." He said he was on the phone with her when he heard someone in the background say "gun" — followed by "something loud."
An Arcadia Drive woman called police on her son, 26, because he was at her home, "aggravating her."
Hawkins County Sheriff's Office
A Surgoinsville woman allegedly found two slashed tires on her vehicle, along with a note stating, "You have messed with the wrong bitch's man. Last Warning."
A woman claimed that a Bulls Gap man — who was angry because she refused to turn on her cell phone — hit the hood of her car with his fist. Damage was estimated at $400.
A Rogersville resident reported telephone harassment from a man. The suspect reportedly said that if she doesn't commit suicide he was going to cut her tires, along with burning down her home with her family still inside.
Kingsport Police Department
Officers were dispatched to a stolen vehicle at a medical facility on Cassell Drive. They located the 2013 Ram truck — rented from Enterprise, but never returned — along with the suspect in the theft. Once arrested and transported to the Sullivan County jail the woman claimed that she had planted a bomb in Kingsport, according to city police, and was transported to the alleged location. No explosives were located, with KPD saying the FBI is now investigating the false report. Additional charges are pending.
While responding to an alleged fight at a Norris Street residence police spotted dirt and "fresh green leaves" scattered across the floor. A subsequent search located a trash can on the back porch, containing three plants suspected to be marijuana. A resident reportedly admitted the pot was his and was arrested on multiple charges.
Wise County Sheriff's Office
Dispatch received a 911 hang up call. When they called the line back a female denied dialing dispatch, offering that her dog, "must have been playing with the phone."
A Big Stone Gap caller advised two juveniles were having "sexy time" under her waterbed. She said she tried to chase them off with a stick, but it's not working.
