Donations still needed for Tri-Cities RAM clinic

May 1st, 2013 8:56 am by staff report

BRISTOL, Tenn. — Leaders of the Tri-Cities Remote Area Medical clinic are seeking additional donations to cover necessary expenses for this year’s event at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Helen Scott, executive director of Healing Hands Health Center in Bristol and chairwoman of the community host group for the RAM clinic, said donations will help cover a number of expenses associated with the event.

These include medical and dental supplies, as well as tents, tables, chairs and food. Patients and volunteers receive up to three meals a day when they participate in the clinic.

“We have received a number of generous donations, and we greatly appreciate this support,” Scott said. “However, there are still additional opportunities for companies and individuals to leave a legacy by backing this meaningful humanitarian effort.”

This year’s clinic, to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 3-5, will again help meet the needs of thousands of medically underserved patients in the region. Gates will open at 6 a.m., each day.

Contributions can be mailed to: Crossroads Medical Mission, P.O. Box 16852, Bristol, Va. 24209-6852, with a notation on the check for Tri-Cities RAM. Donations can also be made via PayPal at www.crossroadsmedicalmission.org.
