UPDATE: D-B to face Cincinnati Elder in historic game

The Dobyns-Bennett High School baseball team will face off with Cincinnati Elder High School at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 in what's being described as a historic baseball game.

The game will be played at Jefferson County High School in Dandridge. If inclement weather occurs, Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City will be the backup field.

According to a press release from D-B athletic director Cary Daniels, Dobyns-Bennett is the No. 2 winningest program in the country and will play the No. 3 winningest baseball program in the country, Cincinnati Elder. D-B’s all-time record is 1397-538 through the 2012 season, plus 20-3 in 2013, which totals 1417-541. Elder’s all-time record is 1383-541-4 through the 2012 season, plus 5-4 in 2013, which totals 1388-545-4.
