Fund-raising event to benefit local boy with dwarfism

April 17th, 2013 8:24 am by staff report

JOHNSON CITY — A fundraiser on Saturday, April 20, will raise funds for medical expenses for Josh Adcock of Washington County.

Josh, 9, has a rare form of dwarfism and has suffered many debilitating effects related to the condition. He has been hospitalized at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville since early fall and has only been home once for a few days during that time.

A local business and church are planning the event to raise money to help the family with Josh’s medical expenses.

The Frosty Parrot, a frozen yogurt shop at 1735 W. State of Franklin Road, will donate to the family 20 percent of its proceeds from sales between 6 and 10 p.m. In addition, blowup slides and other inflatables will be proved by Boone Trail Baptist Church.

T-shirts and magnets designed with the family’s urge to “stay on the wall” will also be for sale at the event.
