Freeman powers Bucs to A-Sun victory

JOHNSON CITY — Clinton Freeman had three hits and knocked in three runs, Logan Rice continued his hot streak on the mound and the East Tennessee State baseball team beat Lipscomb 7-2 Saturday at Thomas Stadium to win its second straight Atlantic Sun Conference series.

Freeman finished 3-for-4 with a double and a home run.

His solo shot to right field in the fifth was his eighth of the season.

Mason Hershey also had three hits and an RBI, and Andrew Lasure had a two-run base hit and walked twice for ETSU (20-12, 9-5).

Rice (4-1) won his third straight decision, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk while going six innings.

Will Chesney worked three scoreless innings of relief to earn his first save.

The Bisons (12-24, 3-8) got solo home runs from Taylor Stewart and Aaron Sandoval.

The Bucs, who have won six out of the past seven games, will go for the series sweep Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
