JOHNSON CITY-- ETSU student-athletes will celebrate National Student-Athlete Day this weekend with events honoring their commitment to ETSU both academically and athletically on Friday and Saturday.
Festivities will begin on Friday in which student-athletes will be dressed up in order to be recognized by fellow ETSU students in their daily campus routines.
On Saturday, the focus will be shifted to athletics where available student-athletes will participate in the “Bucs Backing Bucs” program to support their fellow student-athletes who are currently in season.
With a myriad of events going on, the “Bucs Backing Bucs” will be out in full force at each, beginning with women’s tennis versus Northern Kentucky at noon at the ETSU Tennis Complex.
The program will continue with support throughout the day, including the first game of a softball doubleheader against Lipscomb starting at 1 p.m. at Betty Basler Field, a men’s tennis matchup versus Northern Kentucky at 2 p.m.
Festivities will end with the last of the softball twinbill at 3 p.m. Student-athletes will be treated to a picnic at both the ETSU Tennis Complex and Betty Basler Field as they support the teams in action.
The general public is invited to come out and support the Blue and Gold all weekend long, ETSU officials said.comments powered by Disqus
