Man convicted of shooting TV weather man found dead in JC park

A Johnson City man convicted of shooting a local TV weatherman with a crossbow last year in their home killed himself Wednesday at a city park, according to a police report.


Gerald Taylor, 54, 121 Lynn Road, was found inside a vehicle unconscious in Winged Deer Park around 11:10 a.m., according to the report.


Taylor pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to shooting his former boyfriend, Rob Batot, known professionally on WJHL-TV as weatherman Rob Williams, at Williams’ home, where Taylor also once lived, on June 4.
