Meth lab discovery Kingston's 'biggest ever,' chief says

KINGSTON — It was the biggest meth lab discovery of its type in the city’s history, and the police chief worries “it’s getting more and more common.”

A total of 22 “shake and bake” meth labs, or the one-pot method of making the illicit drug, were found Sunday night while authorities were trying to serve a warrant, Kingston Police Chief Jim Washam said.

Most of the one-pot labs were found outside the Gallaher Road residence, which is empty and owned by a man who has been in jail for several months. No charges have been filed, Washam said.
