KINGSPORT — No serious injuries were reported as a result of a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday shortly before 6 p.m. on Stone Drive near the Lewis Lane intersection.

Kingsport Police Department Central Dispatch said a power pole was struck near the Allandale McDonald’s restaurant, knocking out electricity along Highway 11-W in Allandale and extending into Mount Carmel as far west as the Englewood Avenue intersection.

AEP spokesman Todd Burns said 842 customers lost power in west Kingsport and Mount Carmel.

By 7:05 p.m., power had been restored to all but one customer, and that customer was expected to be back online by 11 p.m.
