10-month-old girl dies after being rescued from Morristown house fire

Authorities confirmed that a 10-month-old girl has died from her injuries after being rescued from an intense house fire overnight in Morristown.

The infant, whose name has not been released, died this morning at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., where she was flown by LifeStar helicopter from a Morristown hospital, according to Hamblen County Coroner Eddie Davis.

Firefighters pulled the victim from a rear bedroom window shortly after responding to a fully involved fire reported at 12:14 a.m. in a duplex apartment at 2117 Brights Pike, said Morristown Fire Department Battalion Chief James King.
