Rain, snow impact area fishermen

January 17th, 2013 7:35 pm by George Thwaites

We had a flood watch in effect in Northeast Tennessee through Wednesday.

Thursday afternoon, the snow started pouring down.

While the turn in the weather will hopefully turn out to be more of an inconvenience than a catastrophe,  the combination certainly hasn’t done our fishing outlook much good.

The weather even managed to put the kibosh on a local event that was merely about fishing.

Thursday night’s Let’s Go Fishin’  seminar session with Brandon Card at Higher Ground Baptist Church was postponed due to the inclement weather (which, as this report was being typed, had traffic very fouled up on Lynn Garden Drive).

Seminar organizer Nathan Light noted that Card, who is the most recent Bassmaster Elite Series Rookie of the Year and the first angler from the collegiate ranks to qualify for the Elite Series, has rescheduled for Feb. 7.
