Martin L. King. Jr. weekend events in Johnson City

The following is the events taking place in Johnson City for the Dr. Martin L. King. Jr.
Weekend of Jan 19, 20 and 21, 2013.

          January 19, 2013

11th Annual Dr. Martin L. King Prayer Breakfast at the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church,
225 Princeton Rd, Johnson City.  The breakfast buffet will begin at 9 am and the program
starts at 9:30 am.  Tickets may be purchased at the door for $15.00

Theme:  "10 Footsteps to Change"  A dramatic interpretation of the 1956-58 desegregation
of East Tennessee State Collage.  Narrated by Herb Parker, Associate Professor, Division
of Theater and Dance, ETSU.

          January 20, 2013

Worship Service - Sponsored by West Main Street Christian Church and First Presbyterian Church.
The service will take place at the First Presbyterian Church, 105 South Boon Street, Johnson City.
Rev. Vincent Dial will be the speaker and services are to begin at 5:00 pm.

Carver Recreation Center- 322 W. Watauga Ave, Johnson City, Tn
1. Children Story Telling 9am - 1 pm. Tusculum College students and ETSU Multi-Cultural Affairs
will be assisting.

2. Blood Drive 12 Noon to 6 pm.  ALL who wish to donate blood come to the Carver Center.

3. Carver Rec. Wall of Fame Dinner will begin at 6 pm. Carl Lee will be the speaker for the event.
Four inductees for the wall of fame and three volunteer service awards will be presented.
