MOORESBURG — A Hawkins County woman told police Friday she was attacked by a former female roommate who allegedly cut her hair and face with scissors and then stole $2,900 in cash.

Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Allen told the Times-News the alleged burglary, attack and theft is under investigation, but no arrests had been made as of Monday.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday HCSO Cpl. Chris Funk was dispatched to a burglary and assault complaint at 189 Stubblefield Road in the Mooresburg community of far western Hawkins County.\

The victim, Anetta Patrick, of that address, told Funk that she walked out of her bathroom around 1:37 p.m. to find a former roommate standing in her bedroom.

“The victim (Patrick) stated that the suspect had emptied the contents of her purse on the bed,” Funk stated in his report. “The victim asked the suspect what she was doing and the suspect acted as if she was under the influence. The suspect allegedly punched her in her right eye and used a pair of scissors to cut off her hair.”

Funk added, “While cutting her hair the suspect cut her (Patrick’s) face and left arm.”

The HCSO received a name of the alleged suspect who supposedly now resides in Kentucky, however the Times-News will withhold that name pending an arrest.

Patrick stated that the suspect fled on foot with a bank bag containing $2,900 from Patrick’s purse. The bank bag was later found empty on a side porch missing the cash, which belonged to Patrick.

Aside from the missing cash, Funk reported that a storm door valued at $50 was found to be damaged following the incident. Patrick stated that she had lived with the suspect in the past and that the suspect might be living with a man in Kentucky.
