BRISTOL, Tenn. — Slow start, fast finish.
That was the best way to describe Cherokee’s impressive come-from-behind win over Tabernacle Baptist of the Bahamas on Wednesday in the opening round of the 30th annual Arby’s Classic at Viking Hall.
The Chiefs trailed by 12 points midway through the second quarter then rallied for a 68-57 victory over the Falcons.
Earlier, Urspring, Germany held off a furious fourth-quarter rally to down Gate City 60-50.
With its win, Cherokee (10-6) advanced to meet Berkmar, Ga., tonight at 8:30. Gate City (3-4) will take on Tabernacle (14-5) today at 2:30 p.m.
