BLOUNTVILLE — Dobyns-Bennett forgot how to play against a zone defense during the opening 16 minutes of Tuesday night’s game.
Coach Charlie Morgan wasn’t pleased. So the Indians talked “quietly” at halftime.
Whatever was said — in whatever tone — it worked.
Consecutive 3-point field goals from Thomas Palmer got the fiesta started after intermission, and the Tribe dominated the third period of a 68-45 victory over Sullivan Central inside the Dickie Warren Dome.
D-B (3-0, 2-0 Big 8 Conference), streamlined and far more efficient with the basketball in the second half, outscored the Cougars 32-8 in the third quarter.
Earlier, the D-B ladies ensured a conference sweep with a decisive 54-33 win.
