Beginning this weekend, Natural Tunnel State Park’s “Christmas Lighting of the Tunnel” will be held on Fridays and Saturdays through December 22.
The program will begin at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m.
Visitors are invited to enjoy thousands of twinkling Christmas lights as they make their way down the chairlift and out to the tunnel. They can snuggle up next to the fire, drinking hot cocoa, while listening to local entertainers sing a variety of Christmas songs.
Santa will be in the Visitor Center for all the kids to talk to.
This year, visitors have the opportunity to hike out to the Carter Cabin and listen to the history of the Carter Fort. There is a lit walkway leading to the cabin.
Cost for parking is $3, and the cost for the chairlift is $3 per person; children 6 and under ride free.
