Frustrated with what he believed was a lying torture-slaying suspect, Knoxville Police Department Investigator Todd Childress whipped out a photograph of the horrific sexual injuries one victim had suffered.
"Look at it," Childress demanded. "You being a female, right, what would you think or how would you react to this type of trauma? Would you scream?"
Suspect Vanessa Coleman replied, "Yes … would be in a lot of pain."
"Yeah, I would think so," Childress said. "So you had to hear something."
"I didn't hear nothing that night," Coleman insisted.
