Amelia Gaile Dugger, 46.
The execution of a search warrant Friday afternoon landed a Kingsport woman in jail on drug charges.
The Kingsport Police Department's Vice Unit reports the search was part of their continuing battle against the illegal sale of prescription narcotics. It was conducted at 212 Lewis Lane, apartment 204, the home of Amelia Gaile Dugger, 46.
During the search vice detectives allegedly located prescription pill bottles of oxycodone and clonazapam, a metal pipe used for smoking marijuana and $311.00 in cash. The money is believed to be the proceeds of drug transactions.
Dugger was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are used, stored, or sold, possession of schedule II narcotics and schedule IV narcotics for resale within 1,000 feet of a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was booked into the Kingsport jail then transported to the Hawkins County Jail. She's scheduled to appear in Hawkins County General Sessions Court on Wednesday morning.
KPD Vice Detectives says oxycodone abuse is the most prevalent drug problem in the Model City, with battling the illegal sale of prescription drugs becoming a priority of the narcotics division. Last week vice officers arrested two men suspected of trafficking Roxicet from Detroit, Mich., seizing 100 pills with an estimated street value of $4,000.
