Police seek help solving string of restaurant burglaries

November 3rd, 2012 9:39 pm by Rain Smith

KINGSPORT — Police are seeking information on a string of business burglaries in three jurisdictions, where the suspects are believed to have made away with well over $10,000 in cash.

Kingsport Police Department Detective Martin Taylor says seven restaurants were hit between June 4 and Sept 4. Four of those businesses were located in Kingsport, two in Mount Carmel and one in Johnson City.

Taylor said he has been in contact with investigators in those other jurisdictions. Due to the circumstances and techniques used in each burglary — where safes were either accessed for money or totally removed from the premises — it appears the same individuals are responsible.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact KPD detectives at 229-9429.
