Dr. David Hunter, dean for Academic Affairs at the Harvard School of Public Health, will lecture on "Disruptive Innovation In Public Health Education: Should We Be Spooked By MOOCs?" Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the second floor ballroom of the Johnson City Millennium Centre.
This presentation will address one of the hottest topics in higher education today - the Massive Open Online Course.
MOOCs are open to tens of thousands of students at a time, at no cost, and not for academic credit. Some have suggested they will have a fundamental impact on higher education as we know it.
Harvard is at the forefront of the MOOC movement with a national partnership known as EdX. The EdX partners now include MIT, UC Berkeley, and the University of Texas system.
While the Lecture address MOOCs as they relate to public health education, this is relevant to many other disciplines.comments powered by Disqus
