Scott County Park & Golf Course features a scenic nine holes for a par of 36.

The region's parks offer a wide range of activities, including playgrounds, picnic shelters, walking trails, bike paths, fishing holes, sports facilities and more. To help you make the most of the offerings, Sunday Stories is highlighting one park each week. This week's featured park is Scott County Park & Golf Course in neighboring Scott County, Va.

About the park: Self-proclaimed as the most challenging and scenic course in the Mountain Empire, Scott County Park & Golf Course features nine holes for a par of 36. The terrain has many slopes and hills that stretch over 3,067 yards in length. The park, which opened in 1964, also offers meeting room rentals that can be used for business meetings, birthday parties and other family events.


Park Features: A nine-hole golf course, six picnic shelters, two tennis courts, gazebo/overlook, meeting room with TV and WiFi access, and a 1.5-mile nature trail. Picnic shelters with grills can be reserved by contacting the front desk.
