• 2012-13 TN THUNDER AAU GIRLS 5th grade team is looking for players. It will be the host team for the 5th Grade AAU National Tournament being held in Kingsport Summer of 2013. For more information, call (423) 817-9996 or email tleming@chartertn.net.


• KINGSPORT PARKS AND REC ADULT BASKETBALL registration is being held until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. Leagues offered include Men’s Open, Men’s Industrial and Church. Entry fee is $300 per team (pous a $12 non-resident fee for players who live outside the Kingsport City limits). There will also be a Women’s 3-on-3 league with an entry fee of $75 per team. Football


 • THE DOBYNS-BENNETT QUARTERBACK CLUB will meet each week during the football season every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the fieldhouse. Meetings includes a talk from a guest speakers and the announcement of the players of the week. Anyone is welcome to attend.


Golf


• DARRELL RICE KIWANIS GOLF TOURNAMENT, Oct. 3 at Cattails at  MeadowView. Registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $100 per golfer. Proceeds support Kiwanis projects in our area such as coats and shoes for school children, K-3 grade reading programs, scholastic awards and maintenance of the Boundless Playground at Warriors Path State Park.
