WISE, Va. — The “Effective Supervisor Program” is set to begin Sept. 11 at the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center on the campus of The University of Virginia’s College at Wise.
Developed by the UVa-Wise Office of Economic Development, this comprehensive entry-level leadership training program is designed to build the confidence of those who have been newly promoted or hope to be promoted into front-line supervisory roles. The “Effective Supervisor Program” isn’t just for newly promoted supervisors, though.
Even experienced supervisors or team leaders have benefited from the program. The program will meet for five sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sept. 11, 25, Oct. 9, 23 and Nov. 6. A supervisory management certificate is awarded for the completion of the program. No more than one absence is permitted to earn the certificate.
Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. The tuition for the program is $1,275 which includes materials, lunch, and refreshments.
