Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia have plenty to offer in the way of recreational opportunities, including numerous city and county parks that give residents an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you're looking for a place to play or a quiet green space where you can get away from it all, chances are you won't have to look far.
The region's parks offer a wide range of activities, including playgrounds, picnic shelters, walking trails, bike paths, fishing holes, sports facilities and more. To help you make the most of the offerings, Sunday Stories is highlighting one park each week. This week's featured park is in nearby Church Hill, Tenn.

About the park: J.W. Sally Park is stretched over 10 acres and includes several outdoor activities. A 25-meter swimming pool, along with a four-foot training pool and baby pool, is on the left when you pull into the park. On the right, visitors will notice four tennis courts along with a sand volleyball court. The baseball field is located at the rear of the park and has lights for night games. The park also has a picnic shelter and restroom facilities for attendees.
