BRISTOL, Tenn. — Bass Pro Shops has decided to come to Bristol, Tenn., and anchor what’s expected to be the largest commercial development in the Tri-Cities region.

In a hastily called press conference late Monday, Bristol developer Steve Johnson announced that Bass Pro Shops had just inked a deal to locate at the “Pinnacle,” a 1.3 million-square-foot mixed-use development on 400 acres at the northeast quadrant of the Exit 74 intersection of Interstate 81 and Highway 11-W. The popular Bass Pro Shops will be built on a hill behind the Tennessee Welcome Center.

“It’s a done deal,” Johnson said. “It’s big, and it’s going to set this region on end.”
The Pinnacle will include various types of retail, dining, lodging and entertainment including a 14-screen theater complex, Johnson said.
