Drug trafficking suspects arrested in Hawkins

June 26th, 2012 11:15 pm by staff report

ROGERSVILLE — At least 20 suspects were arrested in Hawkins County Tuesday related to federal pill trafficking indictments. Those suspects were housed in the Hawkins County jail overnight Tuesday and were scheduled for arraignment this morning in federal court in Greeneville.

The arrests are the result of an extensive investigation into thousands of prescription pills being trafficked out of Georgia into Hawkins County and distributed mainly in the Beech Creek community south of Rogersville.

The names of those arrested Tuesday won’t become public record until they are arraigned.
