Food distribution set at Sullivan Central

BLOUNTVILLE — Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, in coordination with Sullivan Central High School, will host a Mobile Food Pantry distribution Thursday targeted specifically for the families of students enrolled in Sullivan County Schools.


The distribution will occur starting at 4:30 p.m. at Central, 131 Shipley Ferry Road, Blountville. The distribution will last for approximately one hour. Guardians or families with children enrolled in any Sullivan County public school who are interested in participating are encouraged to contact Mary Beth Williams at Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee for more information at 477-4053, ext. 226.


In order to ensure proper quantities are available, preregistration is encouraged. Individuals needing assistance but who do not have a student enrolled in Sullivan County Schools are also encouraged to contact Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee at 477-4053 to receive information regarding food assistance in their community.


This Mobile Food Pantry distribution will allow families of students to receive 40 pounds of food including canned fruits and vegetables, dairy products, bread, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter and canned soup.
