Kingsport couple charged in theft of $500,000

Two people have been charged with stealing a half-million dollars from the home of a friend, according to court papers filed in Jonesborough last week.

Roscoe Phillips, 33, 455 Allen Drive, No. 6, Kingsport, and Pamela Ann Perky, 653 Nelson St., No. 163, Kingsport, were each charged with theft over $60,000 in a March 17 incident.

According to affidavits filed by Washington County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sam Phillips Jr., Perky knows the victim, who was not identified in the court documents, and had attempted to steal jewelry from the person’s home in Gray on another occasion.
