CHURCH HILL - Hawkins County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Church Hill man and two Kingsport residents early Thursday morning following an undercover drug buy for Oxycondone pills.
Deputies arrested Anthony Lee Carter of Church Hill and Todd Brian Mitchell and Catessia Ann Ramey, both of Kingsport, on May 31 charging them each with sale and delivery of schedule II controlled substance. All three suspects remain lodged in the Hawkins County Jail under a $100,000.00 bond. Carter will be in court on June 11; Mitchell and Ramey on June 13.
According to the sheriff's department, deputies spoke with Carter over the phone about purchasing an "adequate supply" of Oxycodone pills and invited them to his Carters Valley Road residence to conduct the sale. Carter futher told deputies that his main supplier was at his home and if they were to hurry, he would be able to "hook them up" with how ever many pills they wanted.
Deputies arrived at the residence, engaged in "small talk" with all three suspects and then purchased a number of 30 mg Oxycodone pills. The pills are commonly referred to as "Roxys" and have a street value of $25 to $35 per pill.
Once the transaction was complete, the undercover agents identified themselves as narcotics officers and the two-officer cover team exited their vehicle and made the arrest. Authorities also seized Ramey's vehicle, which had been determined was used to transport and facilitate the drug transaction.
