East Tennessee Musicians Supply offers quality instruments, instruction

May 23rd, 2012 3:24 pm by Susan Kendrick Lauhoff

High energy, enthusiasm and talent exude from performer, composer and instructor Jeremy Fritts. His music ranges from classical to jazz, to bluegrass, country, folk and gospel. The musical entrepreneur has authored four musical instrument instructional books and four DVDs after integrating his background in music, computer and design. In addition, he has also had arrangements published in the magazine "Flatpicking Guitar."

As a performer, Fritts has appeared in many venues including a concert tour in France, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the National Endowment of the Arts sponsored tour "From the Family," the PBS TV show "Song of the Mountains" and hundreds of other national gigs. And, his career also includes two solo albums and over a dozen performed with The Fritts Family (one rose to No. 2 nationally on Roots Music Report, Roots Gospel Chart).

With an undergraduate degree in Engineering Design Graphics from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and a master’s degree in classical guitar from Belmont University, it was Fritts' desire to offer Hawkins County state-of-the-art instruments that led to the opening of East Tennessee Musicians Supply (ETMS).

"The store caters to ultra-high-end professionals. We offer a variety of guitars ranging from $59.95 to $7,988," shares Fritts.

As an instructor, Fritts has taught at Milligan College and currently teaches guitar at ETSU. He also offers private lessons in his store to students of all ages.

Fritts’ enthusiasm for music, and the guitar especially, energizes his career as he continues to tour, compose and teach lessons. Private lessons are offered in guitar, fiddle, banjo, bass, mandolin, music theory and piano at East Tennessee Musicians Supply.

The music boutique is located at 215 Hwy. 346 in Surgoinsville. For information regarding guitars, private lessons, or performing, please visit or call 423-345-3510.
