Garrett Clark is a 17-year-old outfielder for the Dobyns-Bennett baseball team. Clark is, by all accounts, a well-rounded individual, and he'll be furthering his education at Virginia-Wise next fall.
Clark recently sat down with Times-News sports writer Bill Lane for a short Q&A. Here's what he had to say:
Who is your favorite athlete?
What is your favorite movie?
The Bad News Bears.
What is your best athletic memory?
Playing last summer with Pappy Crowe's Tri-Cities Optimist baseball team.
What is your worst athletic memory?
I once hit a home run that appeared to be a fair ball but the umpire called it foul.
In a movie about your life, who would play you?
If you were hosting a dinner party, who would be your three ideal guests?
Chipper Jones, Phil Robertson ("Duck Commander"’) and Kevin Van Dam.
If you could have one super power what would it be?
I wear the same socks and sliding shorts when I'm on a hitting streak.
Do you have a nickname?
Some friends call me KVD when we go fishing.
What are your plans for life after baseball?
I want to go into law enforcement. I've always wanted to be a police officer.
