Frank Theaters Cinegrille and Bowl coming to Kingsport Town Center

April 3rd, 2012 2:49 pm by staff report

Frank Entertainment, a  theater and entertainment company founded more than 100 years ago, announced plans to proceed with construction this summer of a new state-of-the-art theater and family entertainment complex at the Kingsport Town Center.

The new facility, which will be the only one of its kind in the region, will feature twelve theater screens including five 3-D screens.  Frank Entertainment is also examining the potential for adding an IMAX format Extreme Screen to the complex. Additional amenities will include a full service restaurant and lounge (Frank Theaters Cinegrille and Bowl), two bars, a soft play area for children, bumper cars, laser tag and laser maze arenas in a spectacular two-story environment plus twenty-four lanes of regulation bowling.  The family entertainment center will also be available for birthday parties, corporate rentals and special events.

Construction will take place in two phases, with 40,000 square feet of new theater space to be located in the parking lot and attached to the current theater facility. Renovation of the existing 35,000 square feet theater space will result in a new family entertainment complex to replace the current location of the movie theaters.

The new theater section is set to open by Easter 2013. The existing theater will then be converted to the family entertainment center and will open by late summer of 2013. The current theater location will remain open for business during the construction process.
