A man whose dog allegedly attacked a 6-year-old Kingsport girl on March 11 is now wanted for failure to appear in court.

Seth Taylor, 19, of 238 Edith Road., was scheduled to appear on charges of dogs running at large and harboring or owning an unvaccinated dog Tuesday morning in Kingsport General Sessions Court. When his name was called, he did not answer, and court officials determined he was not in the courtroom.

Sullivan County Assistant District Attorney Wesley Mink subsequently advised a bench warrant would be issued for Taylor's arrest.

Taylor was initially located and arrested late last Wednesday. He was released the following day upon posting a $3,500 bond.

The attack occurred on Adrian Drive in Kingsport. Nebraska Nuckels, 6, was playing in her yard when Taylor's 2-year-old Lab mix entered their property.

Police report learning Taylor's dog had a history of running at large and was not up to date on its rabies vaccination. Last week Richard Crino, director of the Sullivan County/Bluff City/Kingsport Animal Control Center, said the dog would continue to be held as charges against Taylor progress through court.
