ROGERSVILLE — Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 11-W just east of Rogersville near the Hawkins County Humane Society.
The names of the people involved weren’t released Tuesday by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Hawkins County Emergency Management Agency Director Gary Murrell said two people were flown via Wings Air Rescue to Holston Valley Medical Center and one was transported to Indian Path Medical Center via Hawkins County EMS.
Murrell said both vehicles were eastbound in the passing lane. A car carrying a male driver and female passenger rear ended another vehicle carrying only a driver when the front vehicle stopped for a dump truck that was slowing to turn left.
Murrell said the injuries appeared serious but not life threatening.
