A sophomore at Daniel Boone High School was taken to an area hospital Tuesday after becoming violent and having to be restrained by school resource officers.

“We had a 10th-grader at Daniel Boone that began acting out in a erratic manner, and he was taken to the emergency room of a local hospital,” Washington County director of attendance James Murphy said Wednesday.

Initial reports indicated the student had been taken to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, but Murphy said the teenage boy may have been taken to Johnson City Medical Center.
