Police say man ran from traffic stop, abandoned child during chase
A Bristol man who abandoned a child while running from Johnson City police was arrested Tuesday on several charges, including child abuse, police said in a news release.
Kedrick Harris, 24, 1713 Anderson St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was stopped for speeding, police said, and officers smelled marijuana as they spoke with Harris.
As police searched his vehicle, Harris fled on foot while carrying the child, but abandoned the child a short distance from where his vehicle was stopped, police said.
