Update: ETSU basketball players robbed on campus at gunpoint, $1,300 cash stolen

Robbers who bound and gagged two East Tennessee State University basketball players at gunpoint in their campus apartment Tuesday night made off with credit and debit cards, a laptop and $1,300 in cash belonging to a third player, according to a report.

According to the ETSU Public Safety report on the assault and robbery, students John Ward and Adam Sollazzo told campus police they were in Buccaneer Ridge, Building O, Apt. 155, around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday when three black men entered the apartment brandishing two pistols.

Ward and Sollazzo were bound by their feet and hands, and they were gagged, according to the report.

hmmmmmmm.......My daughter is a college student....and...she is lucky if she has $30.00 cash. I cant say that it never could happen but highly susp. The fact that this money belonged to someone that wasnt even there??? Who would have known that this money was there? Sorry chaps....dont sound logical to me.

This can't be the entire story - this doesn't sound right. I hope the Times-News will continue to follow what happens. I'm pretty sure I never knew college students who had $1300 cash in their apartment - even if it belonged to a "third" student, who it seems wasn't bound/gagged.
