WACO, Texas (AP) — Country singing star Trace Adkins says he's had a crush on Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey ever since they both attended Louisiana Tech in the early 1980s.
Adkins has dedicated at least one song to the former Lady Techster star, but the former Louisiana Tech football player never approached her until recently.
Mulkey has invited Adkins to sing the national anthem before Saturday's home game against Texas A&M.
Mulkey tells the Waco Tribune-Herald (http://bit.ly/x9yMbd) that she had invited him to sing once before — at the Baylor-Connecticut game in December. A schedule conflict got in the way of that gig, however.
